Meet Real Alaskan Sled Dogs at the Children’s Museum

On Saturday, June 20, from 2 to 3 p.m., the North Country Children’s Museum invites families to meet and pet retired Alaskan sled dogs at a free story time and book signing featuring author Denise Lawson of the Black Bear Sled Dog series. This live animal program is a rare chance for children to get up close with real working dogs and learn about their lives on the Alaskan trail.

Lawson will share her firsthand adventures dog sledding along the Yukon River, giving visitors an inside look at the life of a musher and the remarkable relationships they build with their dogs. Visitors will also learn about sled dog adoption and how retired racing dogs find their forever homes.
