Old Home Days

The Macomb Historical Association is hosting Old Home Days on Friday, Aug. 14 and Saturday, Aug. 15 with live music, good, family fun games, museum tours, chicken barbecue and more.
The event, which will raise money to fund museum building projects, will be held at the Macomb Town Hall parking lot, 6659 State Highway 58, gets started on Friday at 6 p.m. with a live auction with Mike Manning. There will be hotdogs, chips and drinks for sale.
The event will continue Saturday, Aug. 15 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m., kicking off with a flag ceremony and lifetime member recognition at 9 a.m. A chicken barbecue, featuring a kid’s meal will be sold starting at noon. The meal will feature chicken, salt potatoes, coleslaw, roll and drink for $16. The meal is eat-in or take-out. Tickets will be available at the door, but pre-ordering is suggested say organizers. There will be live music by the Marble City River Band with Macomb’s Dean Matice before he moves to Nashville from noon-4 p.m. Other events planned for Saturday include museum and schoolhouse tours, family fun games, a cake walk from 11 a.m.-noon, a raffle drawing for a crocheted flag lap blanket, basket raffle and 50/50 raffle. Winners will be drawn at 3 p.m. 50/50 players must be present to win.
