Eid Celebration

The North Country Children’s Museum will host an Eid Celebration on Sunday, March 29 from 2:00–3:30pm. Families are invited to learn about and celebrate the holiday Eid through hands-on activities, cultural traditions, and sweet treats. The program is open to visitors of all backgrounds.
Families and children will learn about the celebration that marks the end of Ramadan. Through a children’s story, visitors will learn about the meaning of Eid, why it is celebrated, and some of the traditions families observe around the world.
Special guest henna artist Zee from Zee’s Palm Doodles will offer traditional henna hand painting, a popular form of temporary body art often worn during celebrations. Families can also learn about the tradition of charity during Eid by creating their own Sadaqa charity box with community member Ala Fallah. The activity introduces children to the value of generosity and giving to others, an important part of the holiday. The celebration will also include delicious holiday treats and Eid goodie bags for children.
This event is part of the museum’s programming that celebrates the many cultures and traditions that make the North Country such a vibrant community.
The program cost is included with museum admission and membership.
The North Country Children’s Museum is located at 10 Raymond Street in downtown Potsdam.
